An in-person treatment
During your treatment
You will lie fully clothed on a couch, with relaxing music playing. I will usually rest my hands lightly on your shoulders at the start of the treatment and proceed to move to place my hands non-intrusively over other areas of your body, channelling the energy, for the remainder of the session. As the treatment promotes deep relaxation and healing, it is perfectly normal that clients often find themselves falling in and out of consciousness. You may feel heat from my hands or heat or coolness within certain areas of your body, where the energy is flowing strongest. You may see colours, lights or feel light or heavy.
You are likely to be feeling very relaxed and perhaps a little drowsy or light-headed but this will soon pass. You may experience some emotional ups and downs or aches and pains afterwards - these are only temporary (usually lasting just a few hours) and it is positive as it means you are healing and releasing things that you no longer need. Drink plenty of water to flush out toxins, especially if you have a headache.
How many treatments should I have?
After your first treatment you will no doubt have felt some benefits but to obtain the greatest gains from reiki, a course of treatments is recommended. If possible, 4-6 weekly or fortnightly treatments are ideal, as this allows the reiki to build momentum and for the effects to remain longer lasting. Alternatively, you can have a reiki "top-up" as and when you feel the need, at any time.
After your treatment
“Having never had Reiki before, I was quite unsure of what to expect, but I was made to feel very at ease and comfortable. The whole experience was so relaxing and very enjoyable and I even experienced seeing colours during the session! I felt very uplifted and peaceful afterwards. Would definitely recommend!"
“Hi Jo, so sorry, I meant to text and thank you.
It was amazing and I spent the rest of the day like a space cadet!"
